ON April 3, Sec 4 S1 and S3 visited LCCT in Sepang and the Aviation Museum in Sungai Besi. We departed from school on a fact-finding mission as our teachers had handed out assignments a few days before.
When we reached LCCT, we hurriedly made our way to the offices of AirAsia hoping to meet Tony Fernandes, the CEO of the company. Unfortunately he was away in London. The Head of the Culture and Sports Department then treated us to a lively presentation in which he educated us on the many things that keep the mega airline company afloat, such as ancillary income and purchasing the same kind of airplane. Later, we ate lunch before leaving for the Aviation Museum in Sungai Besi.
Upon arrival, we immediately went to examine the various aircraft exhibited at the hangar, such as the Northrop F-5 Tiger. Many took the opportunity to “become” pilot inside the open cockpit of a Cessna plane.
By 1 pm, it had started to rain, so the trip had to be cut short, and we got on the bus to go back to school. After braving a thunderstorm and traffic jam, we finally arrived, gratified that the trip had truly been educational.
